As a Radio Station and Blog/Magazine, Go Explore Radio is often approached by brands and businesses to work with them. However, we always provide honest and genuine feedback, and we would never promote something we do not fully believe in or recommend to our family or friends.

In line with the new laws announced in January 2019, stating that influencers must not only declare ads, gifts, sponsorships, or affiliates but also disclose any history with the businesses or brands, Go Explore Radio wants to make clear how we will handle this.

Just to Make it Clear

Paid, Sponsored, Gift

When we use the phrase ‘I was invited’ or ‘We were invited,’ it means that one of our presenters or writers was personally contacted and asked to attend or try something in exchange for an honest opinion. This may result in receiving free items, free entry, a trip, or payment, but we will always be transparent in our radio shows, blogs, vlogs, and on social media. If our shows are sponsored, we will state this throughout the show. To ensure clarity on our platforms, such as blog posts, we will also include a disclaimer at the end of posts. This applies to the following:

• Press Trips
• Attractions
• Events
• Restaurants
• Hotel Stays
• Activities

Paid, Sponsored, Gifted or Loaned

On occasion, we may be sent a product to try or given the opportunity to experience a service in exchange for an honest review. These products may be loaned short-term or given to us permanently, and sometimes, we may be paid as ambassadors in exchange for a truthful review. If we genuinely enjoy the product and believe our listeners and readers will benefit from it, we will share as many details as possible, including both pros and cons. Where relevant, we will provide tips to help users make the most of the product. This may include:

• Products for travel, lifestyle, entertainment, technology, fashion, or food
• Services such as courses, travel services, etc.

Adverts and Sponsorships in our Radio Shows

We do play adverts throughout each show, which are paid for by businesses or brands. However, we are highly selective about whom we allow to advertise on our shows, with a strict onboarding policy to ensure that the advertisements align with our values and audience.

If one of our radio shows is sponsored by a business or brand, our presenters will clearly state this throughout the show.

Affiliate Marketing

The Go Explore Radio site contains some affiliate links, which do not cost you any extra. If you click on one of our affiliate links and make a purchase, we earn a small commission. In some cases, our affiliate links may also offer you discounts. We use affiliate links in the following ways:

• Banner adverts when other companies are advertised on the Go Explore Radio website
• Posted reviews that link to where you can purchase products or book your travel

Amazon Affiliates

Go Explore Radio participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising programme that allows sites to earn advertising fees by linking to Amazon.co.uk. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.

How We Will Disclose This on our Radio Shows or Social Media

Radio Shows

If one of our radio shows is sponsored by a business or brand, our presenters will clearly state this throughout the show.

Instagram and TikTok Stories/Reels

If we are working with a brand, we will tag the business in our stories or reels. If it is a paid partnership, we will use the hashtag #paidpartnership, #sponsoredpost, or #ad. If we receive an item or trip for free, we will use the hashtag #freebie, #gifted, or #loaned.

Instagram

If we post a permanent photo on our Instagram feed, we will include a short disclaimer along with the relevant hashtags as mentioned above, and we will tag the brand in the photo.

YouTube

If we create a YouTube video that involves a paid, sponsored, or gifted product or service, this will be stated in the video, on the end card, and in the description. We will also mention discount codes and affiliate links where applicable.

X (formerly Twitter)

If we post a link to our content on X, we will tag the brand and use the relevant hashtags.

Facebook/LinkedIn

While it may not always be possible to tag the brand, we will name them and use relevant hashtags.

Discord

Although we cannot tag brands on our Discord server, we will disclose the type of content we are sharing.

Promoting Our Own Products

Go Explore Radio will have merchandise available for purchase in the future, so from time to time, our team may wear or use our own products in photos or videos.

Guest Posts and Collaborations on our Radio Shows, Blog Posts, and Videos

We have regular contributors listed in the writers’ section of our blog. Occasionally, Go Explore Radio accepts guest posts from other content creators (not agencies). Collaborations may include:

• Special guests on our radio shows
• Collaboration posts/videos with other bloggers, vloggers, podcasters, or influencers, which will include links to their blogs, YouTube channels, or other social media platforms

Please note that if we collaborate with other bloggers, vloggers, podcasters, influencers, or radio show guests are their opinions, views, and actions are their own and not those of the presenters or the Go Explore Radio brand. If their behaviour is seen to damage the Go Explore Radio brand, the collaboration may be removed without notice or explanation.
